Now on the threshold of Christmas, the St. Paul’s Cathedral Virtual Production Team is pleased to announce details of our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day programming. All services may be accessed in the normal ways:
ON CHRISTMAS EVE at 4 p.m.
The annual children’s pageant takes an unusual though amazingly innovative form this year. The customary liturgy without the Eucharist anchors familiar readings and carols led by friendly faces. Also watch for a beautiful storytime in front of our amazing new manger coupled with international nativity favourites made possible through online technology. Something different; something familiar; something beautiful, for God.
ON CHRISTMAS EVE at 7 p.m.
Bishop Lincoln leads us through a familiar liturgy including familiar Biblical passages, the rite of Spiritual Communion, and lots and lots of carols, sung by St. Paul’s parishioners, some in the building, others in their homes. These folksy presentations will be complemented by a special musical sermon where Dean Ken and local soprano Rachel Casponi share traditional favourites and some lesser known carols and song.
ON CHRISTMAS DAY at 10 a.m.
Melissa Green and Dean Ken share a special worship time, with stories, prayers, and a guided tour of the newly constructed manger, full of precious items loaned to us for in order to celebrate the special nature and person of the Baby Jesus at this most special moment.
