The Very Rev. Ken Gray – Dean and Rector
So who would have thought that having married Kathie here at St. Paul’s on April 25, 1987, that Ken would one day return as dean of the cathedral. Never say never . . .
After lay and ordained ministries throughout Canada Dean Ken took up duties at St. Paul’s on April 1, 2016. Attracted to the cathedral community by its long and proud history of community service, lively worship and music, hunger for understanding and expressing Christian faith, and abundant humour. Ken has rapidly connected with all that St. Paul’s has to offer.
His experience nationally and internationally in environmental ministry and climate justice advocacy is already affecting our common life. He is a keen scholar, artistic photographer and active musician having just completed eleven years as spiritual director of Jazz Vespers Westshore on Vancouver Island.
He is increasingly in demand as a lecturer and presenter throughout Canada.
He is active in the disability community as a senior volunteer with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind as he has lived with Albinism since birth.
He is married to Kathie with whom he had two adult children and a wonderful Australian Shepherd named Marly.
