Ten families plus volunteers gathered for the Family Dinner on October 17th. We enjoyed a delicious pasta dinner, veggies and dip and for dessert a variation on caramel apples – apple slices that could be dipped in caramel or chocolate sauce and sprinkles. Although a bit messy, it was delicious.

Following dinner, the children completed work on their spiders and then competed in the spider race. By blowing with a straw they got their spiders to jump or slide across the floor. Check out some of the spiders pinned up in the church hall.

Then the children listened to a couple of Hallowe’en stories, before creating masks. Some were scary, some were beautiful, but they were all fun to make.

Our last activity of the evening was the “eyeball” pingpong ball toss. Unfortunately no photos, but it would be hard to capture with pingpong balls bouncing all over the hall!

Thanks to all the volunteers that come together to make this community dinner happen.

Next Friday Family Food and Fun will be November 21st. Watch on this website for details.
