St. Paul’s Cathedral welcomes everyone to our services of worship. We offer three worship services throughout the week using the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) and the Book of Alternative Services (BAS). Other cathedral and territorial services are scheduled as announced.
Sunday:
8:00am Holy Communion Service using the Book of Common Prayer
10:00am Holy Eucharist using the Book of Alternative Services with Sunday School for children. This is a family friendly service.
Wednesday:
10:00am Holy Communion Service using the Book of Common Prayer
Holy Communion Services
The two weekly BCP Holy Communion Services are quiet and reflective services using the old language of the Book of Common Prayer (thee and thou, for example). This service takes place in our Cathedral Chapel and lasts around 45minutes.
Holy Eucharist Service
Our 10am service on Sunday is filled with music and dynamic liturgy amidst a congregation of all ages. The language at this service is modern and the age range varies from the very young to our wise elders and everyone in-between. The mood ranges from quiet centering prayer to spontaneous extroverted exuberance, often within a single service. Children and Teen Sunday School takes place during this service. Preaching is an important part of our weekly 10 am worship.
Music
Our 10am Holy Eucharist service is enriched by the presence of our choir and occasional guest musicians. We are blessed with a skilled and dedicated group of individuals who believe strongly in the inspirational qualities of music and singing as a means of worship. We are blessed to have the accompaniment of highly skilled musicians who lead our song on organ, and piano.
Service hymns are sung using Common Praise, while communion hymns performed by the choir range from traditional selections to modern spirituals.
