We had a “nutty” time with 10 families, 32 people attending Friday Family Food and Fun November 22nd. The children searched the hall for photos of squirrels, chipmunks, cones and acorns as a predinner activity. We enjoyed our traditional pasta meal with ice cream for dessert.
Squirrel, squirrel, chipmunk was our first game ( a variation of duck, duck, goose) to wear off some energy. We also did an action song about a grey squirrel and had some stories about squirrels. Did you know that tree squirrels belong to a huge family of about 250 squirrels worldwide?

For our craft, we made squirrel figurines/puppets from toilet paper rolls. It was a very challenging craft for the younger children and required assistance from their adults. The end result was enjoyed by the children.

One child made accessories for her squirrel when she got home!

Some examples of the squirrel figurines can be seen in the church hall pinned to the bulletin board.
Also we received this note of thanks written on the paper table covering.

Watch here for information about our next family dinner which will be held December 19th.
