The Cathedral was struck by Latin speaking vandals over the winter. Our Cathedral Sign was vandalized and the “l” was taken off.

Clearly the Vandals wanted to teach the congregation a lesson in Latin. Cathedra (Latin for “chair”; from Greek: καθέδρα kathédra, “seat”) is the bishop’s throne or the seat of a bishop. It is a symbol of the bishop’s teaching authority in the Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church, and the Anglican Communion churches. (Thank you Wikipedia) .

The Cathedral is where we hold the Cathedra (or the Chair of the Bishop)

Lucky for us we have a handy wood worker in the congregation and Dave Rolston was able to craft an L for us.

All is now as it should be.

Those Latin speaking Vandals have struck!
All better – Thank you Dave Rolston!
