Introducing our Verger – Miriam!

We are lucky to have a Verger at the Cathedral. The role of the Verger has its roots in the early history of the Anglican Church. Historically, vergers were responsible for the order and upkeep of a house of worship, including the care of the church buildings, its furnishings, and sacred relics, preparations for liturgy,  conduct of the laity, and grave-digging responsibilities.

Luckily for Miriam there is no grave digging required at the Cathedral!
