Praying with PWRDF returns this Thursday January 12 at 1 pm Eastern with Valerie Maier as reflector.

Valerie Maier has been the president of PWRDF since 2018. She recently returned to Ottawa from the largely First Nation community of Mayo, Yukon, where she and her husband, Charles, served as volunteer lay ministers for six years. Valerie is a retired teacher and very proud supporter of the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund’s vision of peace, equity and justice for all. Her time in the Yukon gave her an enhanced appreciation of the need for healthy communities, and the importance of caring for each other with dignity and respect. Valerie has a Master of Education degree from the University of Ottawa. In her career as a teacher, she worked extensively with students at risk, developing programs around environmental science and health issues. She offers experience in program planning, advocacy, risk management, strategic planning, and communications.

The Zoom link will be sent out on Thursday along with the Order of Service. We will be moving to monthly Praying with PWRDF sessions as many of us return to more in-person worship and learning opportunities. Praying sessions will take place on the second Thursday of each month. The next one is scheduled for February 9 when we plan to mark International Development Week

Subscribe to Praying with PWRDF and receive the zoom link for each session by clicking this link.
