Make a world of difference at World of Gifts

With Advent approaching, I would like to draw your attention to PWRDF’s seasonal campaign that has the potential to make a significant impact to our neighbours in Canada and around the world.

PWRDF’s annual World of Gifts guide is back again this year, full of gift items chosen to alleviate poverty, promote sustainability and provide support to communities in need around the world. This guide offers a unique and meaningful way for individuals and congregations to engage in transformative giving. Through World of Gifts, parishes and parishioners can directly contribute to projects that address a wide range of needs, from healthcare and income generation to food security and clean water. This year we have exciting news: every gift, up to the first $110,000, will be matched by a very generous donor, doubling the impact!

This year’s newly designed World of Gifts will be distributed through the Anglican Journal in October, November and December and is also available at our updated online store at www.pwrdf.org/worldofgifts. We will also be placing ads in the Anglican Journal and in all diocesan newspapers and producing a few fun promotional videos.

Despite all these initiatives, we know that not all Anglicans are aware of this opportunity to give a gift this holiday season that will make a world of difference for individuals, families and communities. That’s where we are asking for your help. We invite you to consider encouraging your clergy and parishioners to explore the World of Gifts and support this campaign. Many parishes find that World of Gifts offers wonderful opportunities for parish projects over the Advent season that serve as a tangible expression of our faith and commitment to loving our neighbours. Parishes can come together to “buy the whole farm” (supporting nine food security projects in eight countries), or pitch-in for wells, bringing clean water to drought-stricken communities in Kenya. We also encourage donors to buy gifts in honour of their friends and family. Customizable gift cards are available for every item.
